When you think of new media, I think one of the first things you would think of is creativity. New media gives people the opportunity to express themselves in new ways. Furthermore, it gives people a better way to reach the public and be noticed by others. In the article “The new math of Mashups” we see how artists are using new media to create mashups of songs that people would never think of combining. Some of them becoming very successful. Also, in the article “Disney Tolerates a Rap Parody of Its Critters. But Why?” explains how artists are also using mashups even with Disney characters and creating videos on YouTube. Which were also a big hit. New media allows artists to do so many things just by using their computer and not having to use all these high tech studios.
